Who are the Mori Girls?

Loosely natural, fairytale-like. Vintage, outlandish and charming. Embrace nature, embrace yourself.

Mori Girls(森ガール) is a subculture in Japan. Mori means "Forest" in Japanese, so it means girls who look like they live in the forest. Wearing a minimum of five layers of dresses and cardigans, mori girls live their lives by taking in the simple pleasures of the little things in life. Oh, they like photography too. Queen of Layering Style

Well, she isn't your typical mori girl, but when it comes to layering, Chyi (齐豫) is definitely the queen.

I love her style. She has been donning it for years, I think, ever since her debut. Outlandish perhaps, quirky even, she is a pioneer for sure.

Mori Girl Look/Style

Some examples from Japanese actress Aoi Yuu(蒼井優), who is essentially, the icon for Mori Girl style.

Mostly loose and baggy clothes, ethnic style, lots of layering, subdued colors.
